The Very First Post

Ok so it's still November and I'm not getting on a plane until December BUT I really wanted to get this site up and running so that I can focus on packing when I get home! Yay. Also I don't want to do my homework so thank you procrastination.

Here's some random information about India. There are so many things to know but I think currency and time difference are important.

So currency: Obviously the US dollar is worth a lot more, even in these days of economic decline.
500 Rupees is about $10
1000 Rupees is about $20
$5000 Rupees approximately $100
So you get it, basically multiply American dollars by 50 and you've got the price in rupees.

Another weird little thing is the time difference from East Coast USA to Hyderabad, where I will be living. It's 10.5 hours which is pretty weird. So that would make current time in Hyderabad 6:33am!
I've been trying to look at a little bit of Hindi before I go but I haven't gotten a chance to learn a whole lot but that will soon change. I've discovered this blog has a nifty little transliteration feature on it, so I can actually put Hindi on here for you to see!
For now that is all. Once I actually get there I'm sure there will be plenty to say.
